Hearts of Olean UPDATE: today Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce jumped on board as primary sponsor helping the project reach the funding needed to make it all possible. The canvas prints will be on display at the Allegany-Limestone High School Arts Festival, Clambake (june 13),Corporate Challenge (june 27) and finally the Taste of Olean. At each event raffle tickets will be available and at the Taste of Olean (in July) a winner for each canvas print will be announced. There will also be limited amount smaller prints at each event for individual sale. Mini Chad calls On RevelEdge and Derreck Carapellatti for the second batch of “Mini Chad Gear.”

My first charity project has officially been launched starting today after meeting with the towns local news paper (The Olean Times Herald). The working title for the project has been dubbed “Heart of Olean” and all proceeds will be going to “The American Heart Association”.

The project came about when thinking of how I could do something good for someone/something using my love for design. Being a long time race fan I put together a mock-up poster for the no longer existing “Olean Speedway”. That poster sparked a series of ideas to design a collection of posters with the theme of older 40s-60s event posters redesigned with a current touch, and auctioned off for charity. I decided to go with ”The American Heart Association” due to my brother who was born with Atrioventricular Canal Defect (missing the divider between the two lower chambers of his heart) and survived two open heart surgeries before the age of one. Although he is doing fine now knowing how different my life would be without him makes me want to give back to the cause.

After months of brain storming for the Hearts Like Riots EP Album Cover, it has finally been completed! It is by far one of the most fun projects that I have worked on yet. The EP will be released in early to mid February, and the Artwork will be released soon before!
